Dropped objects are the 3

rd largest cause of workplace fatalities around 

the world.

When working at heights, dropped tools or other equipment pose a significant safety hazard. Safety 

at work is especially important when working on elevated work areas where employees are 

working underneath. 

Injuries resulting from dropped or falling objects can range from minor cuts and bruises to severe, 

life-altering injuries, including death. Common injuries include:

• Traumatic brain injuries
